Winemaking Notes: The 2021 Niagara vintage presented unique challenges for later-ripening reds, with cooler temperatures and increased precipitation requiring careful vineyard management. Fortunately select vineyard sites were able to achieve exceptional quality through meticulous canopy management, thoughtful fruit thinning and precise harvesting decisions to ensure only the finest fruit reached the cellar.

The grapes were gently handled and fermented at moderate temperatures to preserve the elegance and freshness of this cool climate Merlot. Recognizing the natural acidity and structure of the vintage, the wine was aged for four years in carefully selected premium French oak casks, allowing the wood to integrate seamlessly while softening the palate and enhancing complexity.

Ruby red in colour, this Merlot opens with aromas of fresh plum, dark cherry and wild raspberry, layered with subtle notes of cedar, tobacco and dark chocolate. The palate is elegant and savoury, showcasing bright red fruit, refined acidity and smooth, well-integrated tannins. A structured yet graceful finish carries delicate hints of spice and earth.
