Visiting the Winery

Where are you located and what are your hours?

Palatine Hills Estate Winery is located at 911 Lakeshore Road in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. Our winery is just minutes from Historic Old Town Niagara-on-the-Lake.

We are open seven days a week from 10am to 6pm (May - October) and 11am to 5pm (November- April).

Closed: Christmas, Boxing Day, New Years and Easter Sunday.

Do I need a reservation to visit Palatine Hills Estate Winery?

Reservations are not required for general visits to Palatine Hills Estate Winery. Guests are welcome to stop by for wine flights, glasses of wine, cider and snacks at any time.

However for groups larger than 8, or for special occasions, we recommend contacting us ahead of your visit.

Can I reserve part of the patio?

Yes. We welcome group visits and, depending on the size of your party, may be able to reserve a dedicated section of our winery patio for your experience. Group reservations are subject to availability and may require a reservation fee or minimum spend.

To ensure the best experience, we recommend contacting us in advance to discuss your group size, preferred date, and any special requirements.

What can I expect when I visit the winery?

Palatine Hills is more than just a winery. Guests can enjoy wine flights, wines or cider by the glass, snacks (including locally sourced cheeses and meats), outdoor seating, seasonal events and a welcoming atmosphere inspired by life outdoors.

Whether you're visiting Niagara-on-the-Lake for the day or exploring local wineries, we invite you to relax and stay awhile.

Do you offer tours?

No, we do not currently offer formal winery or vineyard tours at Palatine Hills Estate Winery.

However, we welcome guests to enjoy our self-guided wine tasting experiences, where our knowledgeable team will introduce you to our wines, share our winemaking philosophy and provide insight into the history of the winery. These tasting experiences are a great way to learn more about our wines while exploring the winery at your own pace.

For private wine tastings, group visits, or custom winery experiences, please contact us to discuss available options.

Is there outdoor seating available?

Yes. We have an outdoor patio with seating areas where guests can enjoy wine, cider, and snacks while taking in the vineyard surroundings and fresh Niagara air, weather permitting!

Is the winery accessible?

We aim to make our space as accessible as possible. The property includes accessible areas for tastings and washrooms, though some outdoor terrain may be uneven. If you have specific accessibility needs, we encourage you to contact us before your visit so we can assist and help plan your visit.

Are dogs allowed at the winery?

Yes! Well behaved, leashed dogs are welcome both inside and outside at Palatine Hills Estate Winery.

We love the outdoors and know many of our guests do too, so feel free to bring your four legged companion along to explore the vineyard trails or relax with you in the winery or on the patio while you enjoy your visit.

Are children welcome at the winery?

Yes, families are welcome at Palatine Hills Estate Winery. We’re a casual, outdoor-friendly space designed for relaxed visits. We just ask that children are supervised at all times so all guests can enjoy their experience.

When is the best time to visit?

Niagara-on-the-Lake is beautiful year-round. Summer and fall are particularly popular for winery visits, while spring offers vineyard views and smaller crowds and winter offers a more intimate and festive atmosphere.

Each season truly provides a unique wine country experience.

What happens if it rains?

Don't worry, we have an indoor space!

Wine tastings & experiences

How long are tastings?

Most tastings take approximately 30 minutes. Guests are welcome to stay afterward and enjoy wine by the glass, cider, lawn games and our outdoor patio spaces.

What wines are available for tasting?

Our tasting selection rotates seasonally and highlights current releases from our estate and curated portfolio. Each flight is designed to showcase the character of our vineyard and winemaking style.

What is included in a wine flight?

Our wine tasting flights feature four 1 oz pours, carefully selected from our current wine list. Flights are designed to showcase a range of wine styles, each gives guests the opportunity to discover new favourites while learning more about our wines.

Do you have a restaurant?

We do not have a restaurant, but we do provide food options such as snacks and Snack Trays (which feature cheese, meat, pickles etc.) See more info on our offerings here.

Do you offer food with your wine tastings?

Yes! We offer a variety of snacks onsite for purchase, as well as three different Snack Boards featuring local artisan cheeses, cured meats, and other thoughtfully paired accompaniments designed to be enjoyed alongside your wine.

Can we bring food?

Outside food is generally not permitted during regular winery visits. However, guests with dietary restrictions, allergies, or medical requirements are welcome to bring their own food if they contact us before. We ask that any outside food be enjoyed respectfully and that all waste be disposed of properly.

For private events, large groups, and venue rentals, outside catering and food trucks may be permitted. Please contact us directly to discuss your event requirements.

Do you offer non-alcoholic options?

Yes. In addition to wine and cider, we offer non-alcoholic beverages so everyone in your group has something to enjoy while visiting.

Do you host events throughout the year? Can I host an event at the winery?

We do. Throughout the year, Palatine Hills hosts winery events, pop ups, member-exclusive experiences, seasonal celebrations and outdoor gatherings.

Do you have a Wine Club?

We do! The Ramblers Wine Club is our quarterley membership program designed for wine lovers who want exclusive access to wines, perks, and winery experiences.

Members receive curated wine selections, complimentary tastings / glasses of wine, merch, exclusive event access, discounts and other member only benefits throughout the year.

Can I purchase Palatine Hills wines online?

Absolutely. Guests can browse and purchase our wines directly through our online store for convenient delivery within eligible shipping regions.

Do you ship your wine?

Yes. We offer wine delivery throughout eligible regions of Ontario. Shipping options and rates are available during checkout, and qualifying orders may be eligible for free shipping promotions.

Do you ship wine as gifts?

Yes. Wine can be shipped as a gift within eligible Canadian provinces where we are licensed to ship.

During checkout, you can provide a separate shipping address for the recipient. If you would like to include a gift message, please leave a note with your order or contact us directly. Please note that an adult of legal drinking age must be available to receive the shipment. We are unable to ship wine internationally.

Can I purchase gift cards?

Yes. Gift cards are available and make a great gift for wine lovers, Niagara-on-the-Lake visitors and Ramblers Wine Club members.
