Palatine Hills Estate Winery Launches Big Format, Low Priced, High Quality 100% VQA Wines
In a bold move to help bring Ontario wine consumers to VQA wines, Palatine has introduced two new 1.5 Litre formats of 2008 Chardonnay (unoaked) and 2008 Lakeshore Red (Cab/Merlot blend) at $16.75 (plus bottle deposit).
This initiative is intended to help consumers get the great taste of VQA wines at the same price as "Cellared in Canada" wines, which, as you probably know, contain 70% of more imported bulk wine from foreign countries.
When you buy and enjoy Ontario wine - wine that is proven to be world class - you support the grape farming industry in Ontario, the winemaking industry, your friends and neighbours, and, you make not just an economic statement, you also make an ecology statement. The wines imported here from foreign countries only to be blended and marketed/sold as "Cellared in Canada" leave a big carbon footprint - just imagine the diesel power used to propel those huge tankers from Australia, Chile, Argentina or wherever.
